Book Discussion Group Title: Stubborn Twig

What if everyone in Oregon read the same book? In celebration of Oregon's sesquicentennial birthday, the selection for adult readers is Eugene author Lauren Kessler's Stubborn Twig: Three Generations of a Japanese-American Family.

This is the true story of three generations of a Japanese –American family in Hood River, Oregon The book chronicles the family’s settling of the area, their survival in the presence of racism and unfair land ownership laws and the ultimate thriving of their family through hard work and unwavering principles.
