Handmade history

The Peabody Award winning PBS documentary series Craft In America offers us the opportunity to reflect on two centuries in which Americans have created beautiful, utilitarian objects by hand. Season 1 explores the history and significance of craft in the United States, focusing on the artist's relationship with the natural world, and the social, emotional connection. And, season 2 continues the journey focusing on those who have discovered craft later in life.

The companion book to the series is entitled, Craft in America: Celebrating Two Centuries of Artists and Objects
